OUTSIDE EMERGENCY KEY RELEASE

For vault-type garages with no other entry. Used in case of a power failure. Allows entry using a key to release the garage door opener from outside the garage, enabling you to manually open the garage door.

Key system is mounted flush with the door in the top section.  The back end of the lock cylinder – inside garage – is connected to the garage door opener, carriage release, by a cable.  When needed, insert key from outside, turn and pull.  The key pulls the lock cylinder out of the lock casing (figure 2).  Grab the casing and pull to release the carriage inside the garage for manual operation.
