Genie InfraRed Safety Kit

Replaces most GENIE infra-red photo cell systems.  These are the newest and most advanced sensors Genie now makes, replacing all previous sensors except the first generation ISR-3 wire connection beams.  Will not work with openers not originally equipped with infra-red sensors.  Beams have screw terminal connections and come with mounting brackets and complete mounting and wiring instructions.

These sensors have screw terminals instead of plug-in or push-in connections for the sensor wires.  The pig-tail sensor plug, shown below in Related Items, is not needed to connect these sensors to the sensor wires.

Additional Information:

If your original sensors have plug-in jacks, cut off each plug and seperate the two strand wires.  Screw each wire into one of the two terminals on the back of the new sensor.  If one old sensor has 1 plug and the other sensor has 2 plugs, follow the same procedure above for the one plug sensor by seperating wires by color.  For the 2 plug sensor, cut the plugs and connect like wires by color.  Then connect one set of same colored wires to one terminal and the other set of same colored wires to the other terminal. 

For those systems having sensors attached screws on the motor head terminal strip; if the motor head has either three or six terminals on the terminal strip, use terminals 2 and 3; if a four position terminal strip, use terminals 3 and 4.
